Agriproducts import embargo of Ukrainian grain to the EU: threat to the policy of solidarity with Ukraine or protection of the EU producers

Today, the online event “Agriproducts import embargo of Ukrainian grain to the EU: threat to the policy of solidarity with Ukraine or protection of the EU producers” took place, organized by the EEN-Ukraine consortium within the framework of the EU-Ukraine Solidarity Lanes platform. The event was aimed at grain and oilseed producers, exporters, importers, farmer associations, and experts from Ukraine and the EU. Participants learned about the reasons and consequences of restricting the import of Ukrainian agricultural products to Eastern European countries, as well as possible ways to address the issue.

The event participants discussed the situation in the grain and oilseed market, the impact of import restrictions on the agricultural sector of Ukraine and the EU, alternative logistic routes for exporting Ukrainian products, as well as opportunities for cooperation and support between Ukrainian and European partners. They also had the opportunity to present their commercial proposals, prices, and directions on the “EU-Ukraine Solidarity Lanes Business Matchmaking Platform.” The event was valuable for promoting Ukrainian organizations at the international level, finding business partners and new markets, business development, and exchanging experiences with professionals. The event was moderated by Olga Shubina, the coordinator of the EEN-Ukraine consortium. During the event, the following speakers took the stage:

  • Mykola Moroz, Representative of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, discussed the issues, reasons, and consequences of import restrictions, as well as possible ways to address the problem.
  • Mykhailo Nepran, First Vice President of the Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
  • Olena Fesenko, General Manager of EEN-Ukraine Consortium, shared information about the opportunities provided by the EU-Ukraine Solidarity Lanes platform.

As part of the event, companies participating in B2B meetings on the EU-Ukraine Solidarity Lanes platform presented their range of products and shared their contact information with international partners.
