One of the largest IT conference in the world “WEB Summit” was held since 4th till 7th of November 2019 in Lisbon, Portugal. It is place where gathers representatives of almost all the most famous Internet projects and offline brands. This year’s event gathered more than 90k exhibitors including speakers, entrepreneurs, programmers, engineers, developers, investors, journalists, etc. There were a press conference during the event where experts discussed the situation in the field of IT not only technology, but also the environment, sports, fashion and politics. The main topics of the summit were: the new simulation technology and engineering, digital technology, computer security, e-health and industrial technology 4.0.
During the summit, on the 6th of November, 2019 the Enterprise Europe Network organized the free brokerage event “Lisbon Beyond Summit 2019”. During the event all participants which registered on the specialized platform https://lisbon-beyond-summit-2019.b2match.io/ were able to pre-schedule b2b appointments and establish new business contacts. Brokerage event gathered 156 participants from 19 countries.
From Ukraine the brokerage event was attended by Eric Eugene, the company SolarGaps – winner of the national competition startups “Innovation-2019”, organized on the 27th of August, 2019 in Lviv by the EEN-Ukraine consortium and one of the largest IT companies in Ukraine “SoftServe”. The “SolarGaps” received the Grand Prix – grant to participate in the “WEB Summit 2019”.
Project “SolarGaps” – the first smart blinds with solar cells is able to automatically track the movement of the sun throughout the day for the most efficient power generation while contributing to maintaining a comfortable temperature indoors. Generally, crowd funding platforms and a variety of startup contests played an important role in development of the project. They have given the company’s development from idea to final product commercialized; by winning the «Global Impact Challenge 2017″ to award winning Horizon 2020 SME Instrument Phase 2.
As noted by the coordinator of the EEN-Ukraine Consortium Olena Fesenko, the example of the success of Mr. Eric, such international events as the “Innovation-2019” is an important platform for the meeting of scientists, innovators and inventors, manufacturers leading innovative technology, the founders of startup and spinoff companies from businesses and potential partners interested in innovative technologies
