USAGE OF LNG AND ALTERNATIVE ENERGY SOURCES
This Thursday became a platform for discussing the future of Ukraine’s energy sector. The event “USAGE OF LNG AND ALTERNATIVE ENERGY SOURCES” brought together leading experts, government officials, and business representatives to explore how LNG and bio-LNG can become key tools for decarbonization and energy independence.
The event was opened with welcome remarks by:
- Hanna Lyhun, Deputy Minister of Energy of Ukraine
- Markus Lippold, Team Leader for the European Green Deal (European Commission, DG GROW)
- Ihor Blinov, National Coordinator of GIZ in Ukraine
What did we discuss?
The program focused on both global trends and practical solutions tailored to Ukrainian realities:
Market & commerce: Amani Al-Saeedi (FTI Consulting) provided an in-depth overview of small-scale LNG practices, market structures, and pricing.
- Technological breakthrough: Paweł Warszycki (Nesetten) presented mobile energy systems based on cryogenic fuels, while Alfonso Morriello (AXEGAZ) shared global experience in implementing SSLNG projects.
- Bioenergy potential: Oleksandr Smyrnov (MNS GROUP / Technick BG) outlined pathways to energy independence through biogas, biomethane, and bio-LNG.
- Support instruments: Olha Shubina and Olena Fesenko (EEN Ukraine) explained how businesses can access support through the EEN network and the EEnergy project.
New horizons for partnership
The event did not end with discussions — thanks to the STaTMP platform, participants moved on to practical matchmaking. This is a real opportunity for Ukrainian companies to find technological partners, integrate advanced solutions, and leverage European expertise in their energy projects.
