Anuga FoodTech Exhibition

March 2024

One of the members of our delegation, organized by the EEN-Ukraine consortium to participate in the Anuga FoodTech Exhibition this week in Cologne, Germany, was Ivan Kurdish, representing the Institute of Microbiology and Virology of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. During his presentation, he shared information about one of the unique developments created by the scientists of the Institute of Microbiology and Virology named after D.K. Zabolotny of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, namely, he introduced the product “AZOGRAN.” This product is designed to increase the yield of agricultural crops (grains, vegetables, technical crops), improve the growth and development of lawn grasses, decorative, flowering, coniferous, and other plants.

The “AZOGRAN” preparation is based on the application of two highly active non-pathogenic bacterial strains (Azotobacter vinelandii IMV B-7076 and Bacillus subtilis IMV B-7023), isolated from soil and selected by the institute’s specialists. The product is available in the form of granular preparation or bacterial suspension and contains no less than 108 or 109 viable bacteria per granule or 1 ml, respectively.

“AZOGRAN” is an extremely effective product and has a number of important characteristics, namely:

  1. Improves nitrogen and phosphorus nutrition of plants;
  2. Synthesizes substances that stimulate plant growth and development, increasing their yield;
  3. Suppresses phytopathogenic microorganisms – plant disease pathogens;
  4. Accelerates plant flowering, their entry into the fruiting phase.

The recommended application rate of the product is 100 ml of suspension or 250 g of granular preparation per one hectare of plant seed norm.

It is important to note that this product is already available on the Ukrainian market.
