Online webinar for EEN experts and cluster managers “Investing and Doing Business in Ukraine”

On February 02, 2023, the EEN UkraineConsortium in close cooperation with the European Commission (DG GROW and EISMEA) organized an international event, an online webinar for EEN experts and cluster managers “Investing and Doing Business in Ukraine”.

During the webinar, the speakers covered the issues of investing and doing business in Ukraine and showed that, despite the war, Ukraine offers interesting opportunities for investment and cooperation in the short and long term. Ukrainian business has quickly relocated and reoriented its activities and is ready and willing to do business with European companies.

• The event was opened by Jakub BORATYNSKI, Director, DG GROW and Natalia MARTINEZ PARAMO, Head of Unit, SMP / COSME Pillar, EISMEA.
• Janis AIZSALNIEKS, Representative of the Support Group for Ukraine in DG NEAR, spoke about the general legal framework (Association Agreement, Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area (DCFTA), Conformity Assessment and Acceptance Agreement (ACAA) and Associated Member status) and the EU4Business Program.
• Together with him, Martine Diss, representative of the European Commission and DG GROW, covered the topic of SMP and its instruments for facilitating business cooperation between Ukrainian and European businesses,
• Mr. Yevhen Angel from the Institute for Economic Research and Policy Consulting provided an overview of the current business situation in Ukraine
• First Secretary of the Mission of Ukraine to the European Union of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Yuriy Moskvitin spoke about the current activities to develop cooperation with the EU countries, as well as the current activities of the MFA to support Ukrainian business, including a brief overview of the Outside database.
• Olga Shubina, the coordinator of the EEN Ukraine consortium, introduced the members of the EEN Ukraine consortium and each member presented its tools and opportunities to support business and innovations
• Olena FESENKO, General Manager of the EEN-Ukraine Consortium, spoke about the matchmaking platforms (EU-Ukraine Solidarity Lanes, Energy Forum and Innovation bridge) administered by the EEN-Ukraine Consortium, aimed at finding business partners in Ukraine and abroad.
• Sergiy Tsyvkach, Executive Director of UkraineInvest, presented the Ukraine Recovery Plan and an overview of investment prospects in Ukraine
• Oksana Ocheretyana, member of the Export Credit Agency, spoke about export crediting in times of war
